Helen V. Coventry, 95, of New Philadelphia passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.
Born October 7, 1922 in Goshen, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Catherine Shivers Kuhn. Helen was also preceded in death by her sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Dan Casebeer; brother and sister in law, George and Ginny Kuhn.
In her early years, Helen had worked at Bassetti’s Restaurant in New Philadelphia and finally retired from Gray Drug in Dover after more than 25 years of service. She was an active and dedicated member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia, where she served on many different committees throughout the years. She was also a member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens. Helen was a social butterfly who never met a stranger; she enjoyed talking with her friends and acquaintances at New Town Mall.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Helen will be sadly missed by her daughter, Joyce (Dan) Stephan of Dover; brother, Jim (Birdie) Kuhn of Attica, Ohio; granddaughter, Nicole Stephan of Bolivar; niece, Cathy Jo Casebeer; and many other nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Monday, April 23 at 11:00 am in the First United Church of Christ with Pastors Jeff Gerber and Jill Lovett officiating. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service on Monday.
