Homer H. Keppler, 87, of Dover died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Park Village Health Center.
He was born on December 3, 1926 in Dover and was the son of the late Homer H. and Ada Dunlap Keppler. He graduated from Dover High School, Ohio State University, and Kent State University. Homer retired from the New Philadelphia Schools after 32 years as a teacher, guidance counselor and principal. He was a member of the Dover First United Methodist Church and the Dover B.P.O.E. He served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Louise Keppler, and three sisters, Jeanne Boich, Marjorie Ridenbaugh and Mary Rosaline Keppler. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Henry) Keppler Teles; grandsons, Christian and John; sister, Ruth Willoughby of Dover; sister-in-law, Marilyn Lash; brother-in-law, Kyle McGinnis, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, July 28 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover with Rev. David Kowaleski officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, July 27, 2 - 4 pm.
