Hoover Thomas "Tom" Ferrell Jr., 75, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away on August 4, 2015 at Hernando Pasco Hospice in New Port Richey, Florida following an extended illness.
Born on June 26, 1940 in Freeport, Ohio, he was the son of the late Hoover Thomas Sr. and Mabel Evelyn (Bendure) Ferrell. He graduated from Freeport High School in 1958.
Tom retired from the United Parcel Service after 32 years. He loved Nascar and supported many Veteran Organizations. He was a member of the Marine Corps League #567, American Legion Post #173, NCOA Post #646, and the Chester McKay VFW Post #7987. Tom was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He will be sadly missed by his children; Fabian Ferrell of Canton, Debbie Ferrell (Rodger Stewart) of Newcomerstown, Mike Ferrell of Massillon, Pam (Evan) Smith of Massillon; five grandchildren, Vanessa (Ramon) Bradley, Savannah Ferrell, Nicole Hidey, Jason Smith, and Amanda Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Keyonna and Raymond Bradley, Rylee and Lillee Burgess, Kaylyn, Kiera and Kaysin Hidey, and Skye Smith; along with his brother; Bob Ferrell.
In honoring Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Morgan Funeral Home & Cremation Services in New Port Richey, Florida on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:30 am with Ernie Fike officiating.
