Howard H. Key, 81, of New Philadelphia, and formerly of Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Howard was born on July 13, 1938 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Fred and Gertrude Little Key. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Howard retired in 2000 from Exxon Mobile in Texas after many years of service. He served his country with the Army National Guard, and was a member of Woodman of the World. Howard loved watching football and rooting for his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks; he also enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping and boating.
Howard is survived by his wife, Gaynell Martindale Key whom he married on April 8, 2000; children, Darleen (Mark) Frizzel, Hugh Key both of Arkansas, Karen Newsom of Tennessee, Carla Medina of Texas, Denise McAdams of Oklahoma, Cheryle (Jimmy) Ellinder of Louisiana, Shannon (Nealy) Pressley of Ohio, Lora (Darren) Bailey of Texas; three sisters; one brother; 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held, with interment at the Dover Burial Park. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
