Howard M. Lewis

Howard M. Lewis, age 73, of Strasburg, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia, following a brief illness.

Born July 11, 1947, in Massillon, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Verna M. Hartline Lewis. Howard graduated from Dover High School in 1965. He married the former Patricia L. “Pattie” Decker on May 15, 1971; the couple shared 47 years together prior to Pattie’s passing on December 4, 2018. Howard was employed by Republic Steel in Massillon, and later, by J & L Specialties in Louisville, from which he retired. He also farmed, an occupation he thoroughly enjoyed. Howard was a faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Dundee.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura L. (David W.) Pall of Uhrichsville; his sister, Mary Berniece (Thomas) Thurn; his brother-in-law, Dwight “Hap” Goodman; his nieces and nephews; and other beloved family members.

In addition to his wife, Pattie, Howard was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Jean Goodman, Linda J. Lewis, Robert G. Lewis, as well as an infant sister and an infant brother.
