Ida M. Lagatta

Ida M. “Dolly” Lagatta, 78, of Oakleaf Village, Columbus, passed away Friday, Mar. 16, 2007, after a long illness. Dolly is finally without pain and is in Heaven. Born Oct. 30, 1928, in Cleveland, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rose Visconti. Dolly made the journey to Dover after her marriage to Louie Lagatta. She quickly made cherished friends in the Dover area. Her Bridge Club of fifty years provided her with stories and news that she passed along to her children. This verbal newspaper kept everyone connected and made for one big family. Dolly could always count on the love and support of these closest of friends. While in Dover, she worked many jobs, but her work at the Senior Center was the one she enjoyed most. Declining health brought her to Columbus six months ago to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Jeff) Hinds; two sons, David Lagatta, and Dan (Audrey) Lagatta; her grandchildren, Max, Sara and Claire; her sisters, Maryann Rabek and Chunnie Ferrara, both of Cleveland; her special “sister” and caretaker, Alvie O�(TM)Brien; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louie, in 2004; and her brother, Russell Visconti. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass for Dolly on Saturday, Mar. 24, at 9:30 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, Dover, with Fr. William L. Arnold officiating. Those planning to attend are instructed to go directly to the church Saturday morning. Immediately following the Mass, there will be a reception in the St. Joseph Family Life Center until 12:30 p.m. Dolly�(TM)s remains will rest with Louie in Calvary Cemetery, Dover.
