Irene Holloway, 80, of Dover, Ohio and also of Jupiter, Florida died Saturday, March 26, 2005 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born February 23, 1925 in Clay, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Carry and Della Truman Cottrell.
Irene loved traveling and enjoyed eating at various restaurants. She formerly attended the New Cumberland Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur “Carrol” Holloway with whom she would have celebrated 37 years of marriage this August 23. She is also survived by two sons, Tommy C. Holloway of New Philadelphia and Gary L. (Sandy) Holloway of Opdyke, Illinois; one daughter, Cheryl Holloway of Dover; seven grandchildren, Ty (Sandie) Holloway of New Philadelphia, Steve (Christine) Holloway of Strasburg, Tina (Rich) Grasselli of New Philadelphia, Heather (Jeff) Lemon of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Amanda Holloway of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Lourie (Carlos) Azeglio of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and Lisa Schartiger of Dover; one brother, Roscoe Cottrell of Baltimore, Md., three sisters, Dolly Thomas of West Virginia, Rose Foster of Bolivar, and Shirley Carling of New Philadelphia, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Geraldine Holloway; three brothers, Holly, Clifton, and Golden Cottrell and a sister, Virgie Boggs.
A service celebrating Irene�(TM)s life will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 4pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Lester Stephens officiating. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 pm. At her request, cremation will be entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Crematory and burial will take place at a later date in the Zoar Cemetery.
