Irene L. Peters

Irene L. Peters, 86, of Strasburg, Ohio died Saturday, July 12, 2003 at Union Hospital following an extended illness.

Born October 13, 1916 in Dowis City, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Lena Feller Laubscher.

Irene was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the AARP and the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Foster W. Peters who died August 21, 2002.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter Dr. Fred (Judy) Peters of Louisville, Ohio John Peters and Connie (John) Ecenbarger both of Strasburg; One sister Lena Walker of Continental, Ohio; Seven grandchildren Susan Lange, Dr. Steve Peters, Laurel Fenn, Michael Peters, Shelly Dosch, Michelle Ecenbarger, and John Foster Ecenbarger; Eight great grandchildren Caitlin, Lauren, and Drew Lange, Logan Peters, Travis Ecenbarger, Katelyn and Emma Dosch, and Joshua Fenn and her former daughter in law Patricia Dunn of Sugarcreek.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Carl Laubscher and two sisters, Helen Schrock and Viola Batdorf.

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 pm in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg with Pastor LuAnn Youngman officiating. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Strasburg on Tuesday from 1-2 pm.
