Irene M. Nemetz, 86, of 128 E. 16th St., Dover, Ohio died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.
She was a retired employee of U.S. Quarry Tile Company in East Sparta where she worked for 30 years.
Born March 22, 1916 in Mineral City, Ohio, she was the daughter of late Minnie Brinkman. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Vernon Reed; two sisters, Helen Mayle and Doris May Reed; and her grandparents who raised her, John and Gertrude Brinkman.
Irene was a member of the St. Paul�(TM)s Community Church at Mineral City and the Sparta Ceramic Retirees. She enjoyed crafts and knitting. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John F. Nemetz with whom she would have celebrated 63 years on October 28. She is also survived by two sons, Jack (Suzanne) Nemetz of Dover and Dean (Tonya) Nemetz of Gahanna; one daughter, Sandra (Larry Sr.) Horstman of Bolivar; Three grandchildren, Lisa (John) Walsh of Bolivar, Scott Nemetz of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Larry Horstman Jr. of Bolivar; 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Evan Walsh and Derek and Mariah Horstman; one sister, Gloria (Al) Bouton of Weeki Wachee, Florida.
A family visitation will be held Friday from 1 until 2 pm with a private service at 2 pm at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover with Pastor Jay Dolvin officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park.
