Iris M. Miller, 50, of Stone Creek, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 28, 2019, at her home.
Born on July 1, 1969, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Ivan Durning and Flora (McNutt) Long of Meigs County, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ivan Durning.
Iris attended New Philadelphia High School. On July 3, 1998, she married the love of her life, Wayne Miller, who survives. The two had been together for 27 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her mother, Flora, and husband, Wayne, she will be sadly missed by her two step-sons; Shawn (Charity) Miller of Stone Creek, and Travis (Kathy) Lee Harding Miller of Uhrichsville; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Flora (Tim) Thornton of New Philadelphia, and Lee Durning of Florida; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Jesse) Shaffer of Canton; along with her beloved canine companion, Abby Mae.
A celebration of Iris’ life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Sandra Mann officiating. Friends are invited to call on Monday one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Stone Creek Cemetery. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at 1873 Victorian Rose, 206 W. Main Street, Port Washington, Ohio 43837.
