Ivy M. Austin

Ivy M. Austin, 85, of Massillon and formerly of Strasburg passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Rose Lane Health Care Center.

She was born in Coventry, England, daughter of the late William and Irene Parsons. She is also preceded in death by her sister; Rene Parsons; brothers, William and Ray Parsons; and granddaughter in-law, Carrie Dottavio.

She met her American husband Lowell during World War II and came to the United States in 1946. She was previously an active member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church and local community.

In additions to her husband, Lowell, she will be sadly missed by her daughter; Kay (Alex) Dottavio of Canton; grandson, David Dottavio of Jackson Twp.; granddaughter, Alexis (Anthony) McAfee of Sherman Oaks, CA; along with her great-grandchildren, Danielle and Gabrielle Dottavio of Jackson Twp.

A celebration of Ivy's life will take place at the Strasburg United Methodist Church on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Lynda Masters officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Friends are invited to call at the church on Friday from 10-11:00 am. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg are handling the arrangements.
