J. Beverly Samples

J. Beverly Samples, 67 of Dover, died Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Union Hospital after battling a long illness.

Born on February 20, 1939 in Marietta, Ohio she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Hinton Chidester.

Beverly was a graduate of McKinley High School and worked at George�(TM)s Restaurant in Dover which was owned and operated by her father. She spent much of her spare time volunteering for the Salvation Army and enjoyed attending garage sales and flea markets. Beverly was also a member of the Dover Moose.

She is survived by her loving husband, Wilbern Gale Samples, whom she married on November 11, 1959.

She is also survived by: two sons, Sterling Samples of Dover; and Lloyd Samples of Strasburg; a daughter, Cindy Basiletti of Dover; three brothers, Harold Chidester of Canton, Ohio, Ronald (Ceciel) Chidester of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Chuck (Dianne) Chidester of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Dianne Chidester of Louisville Kentucky; two grandsons, Christopher Hattery of Canton, Ohio, and Jeremiah Basiletti of Dundee Ohio; and a granddaughter; Shayane Samples of Sarasota, Florida.

In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Allen Hattery.

Cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held at Tunnel Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11:00 am with Pastor Robin Swinsburg officiating. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover is handling the arrangements.
