J. Russell Graves, 86, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, July 29, 2000 at the New Dawn Health Care Center following a brief illness.
He was the owner/operator of Plumbing Contractors and Supply Co. in Dover, having retired in 1984 after many years of service.
Born February 6, 1914 in Smyrna, Tennessee he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha Grover Graves.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover and was a 1932 graduate of Dover High School.
Russell is survived by his wife Charlotte Rinehart Graves with whom he would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on August 14, 2000.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen (Tom) Armstrong of Dover
Jill (Jim) Wallace of Noblesville, Indiana
Six grandchildren: Polly (Barry) Trotter Ben and Sam Wallace
Ryan (Edie) Armstrong Mandy (Mike) Schneck
Jennifer Armstrong
Four great grandchildren
Two sisters: Marie Moser of Dover
Nellie (Harry) Dummermuth of Chandler, Arizona
One Brother: Carl (Mella) Graves of Dover
He was also preceded in death by a brother William Graves
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Brian Nunnally officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 pm.
