Jack E. Geyer, 91, of Dover passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.
He was born on September 25, 1930 in Dover and was a son of the late John and Verba Wherley Geyer. Jack was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret “Peg” Price, Mickey McMillian and his brother, George Geyer.
Jack graduated from Dover High School in 1948 and proudly served his country, on a submarine, with the United States Navy. When he was discharged, he worked for Gradall for 30 years and eventually retired from Joy Manufacturing in 1992 after 10 years of service. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 205 in Dover, Dover Elks, where he served as Exalted Ruler, and was a life member of the Masonic Lodge #59 in Dover. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing a round of golf with his friends and traveling with Jean.
Jack is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Mutschelknaus Geyer, whom he married on August 19, 1953 in the Grace Lutheran Church where Pastor Carl Driscoll officiated services.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, April 21st starting at 2:00 pm in the Dover Burial Park with Rev. Bonnie Grimaldi officiating.
