Jack J. Westfall, 71, of Dover went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Community Hospice (Truman) House with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 20, 1946 in Sutton, West Virginia and was the son of the late Robert Uldrich and Donnie (Westfall) Uldrich.
Jack retired in 2010 from Bill Hawk Inc. where he was a heavy equipment truck driver.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, boating and camping at Atwood Lake and watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He also enjoyed bowling and cruising. During his earlier years, Jack loved coaching minor and little league baseball and for many years was Scout Master of Troop #99 where he took 23 boys to Summer Camp at Tuscazoar and doing the Klondike in the winter.
After graduating from Dover High School, Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963-70 having spent two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He will be sadly missed by his family including his wife Deborah (Rader) Westfall with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 16; a son Christopher (Lisa) Westfall of Houston, Texas and a daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Schwenk of Dover; three grandchildren, Zack Meechan, A.J. Westfall, and Koen Schwenk who were his pride and joy.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 beginning at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating followed by military honors. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Famous Endings museum. He will be cremated and later laid to rest in Bunker Hill Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8pm.
