Jacqueline K. "Jackie" Pineda, 62, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in Union Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Jackie devoted her life to working with the handicapped. She was the transportation coordinator for the Society of Equal Access (SEA) and served in other capacities as well.
Born April 8, 1945 in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Edna (Withrow) Polen.
She was active in numerous organizations including the Moose, Eagles, and VFW Auxiliaries. She was a member of the Tuscarawas County CB Club, Tuscarawas County Handicapped Society, and the Church of the Living God in New Philadelphia. She attended New Philadelphia High School.
Jackie is survived by two sisters Paulette A. Polen of Uhrichsville and Kathleen (Paul) Jones of Tuscarawas; a brother, Byron "Skip" (Twila) Polen of Clinton Twp., Michigan; her fianc Jerry Butler of Dover along with a niece and four nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Polen, a sister, Deborah F. Wilds and a niece, Rachelle Jones.
At her request, she will be cremated and interment will be in New Cumberland Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held April 5, 2006 at 1pm in the Church of the Living God at New Philadelphia
