James A. "Jim" Lyons Jr.

James A. "Jim" Lyons Jr., age 64, of New Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 11, 2015, in his home.

Born July 13, 1950, at Dover, he was a son of the late James A. Sr. and Dorothy E. (Moberg) Lyons. Jim graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1969, and was employed by several local manufacturing firms, including the Timken Roller Bearing Co., Automatic Steel and Handy & Harman.

Jim loved the outdoors, and some of his favorite pastimes were running and hunting. Additionally, he was a social member of V.F.W. Post 1445 at New Philadelphia.

Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Bichsel of Sunbury, and Amy (Terry) Wells of Dover; his grandchildren, Allison, Patrick and Gavin Bichsel; his nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Sweetie, Sassy and Casey.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Huston, Barbara May, Roberta Reiger, Patricia Kerns and Rebecca Welch.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 14, at 7 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover.
