James B. Lewis

James B. Lewis, 85, of Dover died Friday, September 23, 2016 in his home following an extended illness.

Born November 27, 1930 in Fairmont, West Virginia, Jim was the son of the late Alva and Bess Lewis. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a daughter, Roberta Kennedy and a sister, Hattie Margaret Lewis.

He was a longtime truck driver for the former A.J. Weigand Company at Dover. Following retirement as a teamster, he later was a security guard for the Dover Chemical Company.

He attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Sherrodsville. He enjoyed antique cars and was a Nascar fan.

Jim is survived by his wife Dorothy (Sommers) Lewis with whom he would have celebrated 44 years of marriage this December; four children, Diana Dale of North Canton, Lynda (Fred) Dagenhard of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Jim Lewis of Canton and Kathy (David) Ollis of Louisville, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Carol (Stanley) Medley of Dover; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Fox, Mindy Breen, Christi Drlik, Joshua Dagenhard, Kelly Ogunlesi, Gina Toppin, James Lewis, Sam and Sara Ollis and Rick Medley along with 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Elsie) Lewis of Buckhannon, W. Va., and a niece, Vickie Lewis of Fairmont, W. Va..

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 beginning at 11:00am in the Calvary United Methodist Church in Sherrodsville with Pastor Ken Ogg officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday from 6-8pm.
