James D. ''Jim'' Maher, 74, of Somerdale, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000 in his home.
He retired in 1985 from the Timken Company of New Philadelphia and Canton after 37 years of service.
Born February 26, 1926 at Somerdale, he was son of the late John & Myrtle Roberts Maher.
Jim was an Army veteran of World War II having served as a Military Police officer. He was a charter member of the Fairfield Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., and had been a volunteer with the Junior Achievement Program. Jim was also an active and enthusiastic supporter of Tusky Valley High School sports and the Mt. Union College football program.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Deibel Maher, with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage on March 28.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 3 sisters & a brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, at 11:00am in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover with Todd Little officiating. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 6-9pm, and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
