James E. Jarvis

James E. Jarvis, 66, of Strasburg died Sunday, January 5, 2013 in the Community Hospice House.

Born June 20, 1947 in Dover he was a son of the late Wayne and Frances Geib Jarvis. James was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard "Dick" Jarvis.

James proudly served his country with the United States Army and was a member of the Dover VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Dover-New Philadelphia Men's Bowling Association.

James will be sadly missed by his children, Greg Jarvis and his fianc, Paula Betche of Strasburg, Scott (Deb) Jarvis of Dover, Tricia (Chad) Hicks of New Philadelphia and Trevor Jarvis of Strasburg; grandchildren, Raven (Seth) McCoy, Katherine, Jace, Matthew, Riley, Lyla and Maddy Jarvis, Gage Miller and Logan Bitikofer; great grandchildren, Kole, Kale, Kruz and Kamm McCoy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9 at 3:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
