James E. Moore Sr.

James E. Moore Sr., 77, of New Philadelphia died suddenly at Union Hospital on Saturday, February 25, 2017.



Born April 16, 1939 in New Philadelphia he was a son of the late John and Anna Abel Moore. Jim was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Postel, Betty Burlison; brothers, Robert, Russell, and Johnny Moore.



Jim retired as a Crane Operator in 1982 from US Steel in Canton after 25 years of service, and he also owned a grass cutting service for almost 15 years. He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing.



A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Peggy A. Shull Moore whom he married on August 24, 1959; children, Jeffrey A. Moore, James E. Moore Jr. both of New Philadelphia, Roxanne (Michael) Gibson of Dover; grandchildren, Tyler Tope, Ashley Gibson, Brittany, Tiffany and Allison Moore; great grandchildren, Trevor Gibson, Dominic, Marissa, Koleson Roth and MaKenna Taylor.



Private funeral services will be held, with interment at the Dover Burial Park. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
