James E. Wallace Sr.

James E. Wallace, Sr., 79, of Dover died Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.

Born September 20, 1935 in East Prairie, Missouri he was a son of the late Delmar and Bertha Lane Wallace. James was also preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Brink Wallace on June 18, 1989; son, James E. Wallace, Jr.; and 10 brothers and sisters.

James retired from the former I-F Manufacturing Co. in New Philadelphia. He had a passion for golf and was well known for his quality and craftsmanship in making custom golf clubs.

James will be sadly missed by his son, Jerry (Tammy Martin) Wallace Sr. of Gnadenhutten; daughter, Christine Lynn (George) Cox of Cutler, Ohio; grandchildren, Jesse, Savannah, Samantha, Montana, Callahan and Jerry II; sisters, Kathryn Hootman and Leola Elwood.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A celebration of James' life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of James may do so by visiting the on line obituaries and flowers link on the funeral homes website.
