James J. “Jim” Pusateri, age 67, of Strasburg, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, in Community Hospice’s Truman House, New Philadelphia.
Born September 12, 1951 in Cleveland, he was a son of the late August J. and Rose M. Kurka Pusateri. Jim graduated from Cleveland’s West Tech High School and went on to attend technical college. He was the former owner and operator of A-1 Induction Heating, Cleveland, and had several patents to his name.
Jim was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Bolivar, and was a devoted family man - he especially loved his grandchildren. At one time, Jim had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. Another of his favorite pastimes was snow skiing in Colorado.
He will be dearly missed by his family, which includes his wife of 18 years, Karen Milyiori-Pusateri; his daughter, Mandie (Bill) Derwacter; his son, George (Mary Barger) Smart; his grandchildren, Audreanne, Kayla, Alexandre, Desiree and Alexis “Chip”; his great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jo (Tom) Blados; his nieces, Kristen (Ray) Ivy, Shannan Pusateri, Chris (Steph) Bragg and Lori (Elmer “Bug”) Stolicny; his nephews, Tom (Karen), Tim (Jaime) and Chris (Mary) Blados; his great nieces and great-nephews; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diana and Mike Bragg; and his special friend, Sr. Janice Blados.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, John Pusateri, and by his mother-in-law, with whom he was close, Norma J. Dietrich.
Cremation is in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Honoring Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or ceremony.
