James M. “Jim” Polen, 77, of Dover, died Saturday, May 4, 2002 in New Dawn Health Care Center.
Jim retired from the Times Reporter in 1987 where he had worked in Composing for nearly 40 years. He also operated the Polen Printing Company from his home.
Born January 29, 1925 at Dover, he was son of the late Frank and Alice Polen.
He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church at Dover where he had served as head usher for 30 years. A Navy veterean who served during World War II, Jim was also a mason and member of Tuscarawas Lodge 59 F & A.M.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Fay Walter Polen, whom he wed on April 17, 1953.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Earl & Glen.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, at 10:30am in the Grace Lutheran Church at Dover with Pastor Brian Nunnally officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
