James P. Semon, 78, of Dover died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Aultman Hospital following an extended illness.
James retired in 1991 from Ohio Machinery in Cadiz after 10 years of service and had also worked for Dravo-Marks in Canton for 21 years. His greatest pride was owning and operating Green Tree, his Christmas tree farm, which he worked for many years.
Born August 11, 1925 in Dover he was a son of the late John and Rose Yung Simon.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a Marine Veteran of WW II. In his spare time he enjoyed the tranquil peace of fishing.
James is survived by his wife, Clara Myers Semon, with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on June 5, 2004.
He is also survived by two sons, Joseph (Linda) Semon of Dover, James Seaman of Dover; daughter, Margaret (Steven) Ehinger of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brother, Joseph Young of Independence; five grandchildren, Kimberly Herron, Tara Lee, Stacey Tylke, Steven and Ryan Ehinger; two great grandchildren, Keegan and Logan Lee.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. There are no calling hours.
