James R. "Jim" Warner Jr., age 56, of New Philadelphia passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in his home after battling cancer.
Born July 25, 1956 in Dover, he was the son of the late James R. Sr. and June E. Croxton Warner. Jim attended New Philadelphia high school and was employed by the City of New Philadelphia Water Dept. An avid fisherman, he greatly enjoyed days on his boat in the Tuscarawas River with family and friends. He also liked cooking, gardening, target shooting, listening to music and spending time with loved ones.
His daughter, Jillian Warner, his son, James R. Warner, III, and his former wife, Helen Jean Warner, all of New Philadelphia, survive Jim. Additionally his first grandchild is expected later in April.
In keeping with Jim's wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 1, at 1 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Fr. Jeff Coning of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Philadelphia.
