James W. Anderson

James W. Anderson, 72, of 333 Monroe St., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, October 28, 1999 in his home following a brief illness.

He was a retired office employee for the Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pa. and was also formerly a caretaker for Camp Klein near Painesville.  Following retirement, he worked for Marlowe’s NCS at Dover.

Born April 28, 1927 in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Carl D. and Ethelyn Wright Anderson.

James was a member of the Dover Bible Church where he served as president of the Adult Sunday School class.  He was a volunteer for United Way and Hospice of Tuscarawas County.  He was a former member of the Penn Avenue United Methodist Church in East Liverpool where he served as a Lay Leader and Delegate to the annual Jurisdictional and General Conference.  He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Mae Hill Anderson who died Nov. 10, 1993.

He is survived by his wife Lynora Lattimer Kieffer Anderson with whom he celebrated 3 years of marriage on June 8.

Three children  Jane (Bill) Williams of Dover,  Bill (Kathy) Anderson of Chesterfield, Va., and Jim (Linda) Anderson of Massillon
Four stepchildren  Tanya (Junior) Moore of Bolivar, Kay (Dan) Jones of Zoarville, Vern (Alice) Kieffer of Bolivar, and Danny (Vicki) Kieffer of Dover.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, two great grandchildren, and ten step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 at 10:00 AM in the Dover Bible Church with Pastor Ed Scaglione officiating.  Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park.  Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Sunday from 2-6 PM and at the church Monday from 9:00-10:00 AM.  Those unable to attend may sign the on-line register book for James by visiting the “on-line obituaries” link on our website at www.tolandherzig.com
