James W. "Bill" Waldo, 90, of Dover died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Aultman Hospital.
Born April 12, 1925 in Greenwood, West Virginia he was a son of the late Omer and Nellie Dotson Waldo. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl "Kay" Waldo-Gibson and two sisters.
Bill retired from Fleming Foods in Navarre and also was a proud dairy farmer. Following his retirement, Bill decided to relax by working a few more years at Allied Machine. He was a former member of the Gnadenhutten Church of Christ and a current member of the Church of Christ in Dover and was an Army Air Corp veteran of WW II. Bill enjoyed life and always had a sunny disposition, he loved being with his family and helping others. He was also an avid fan of WVU football and basketball.
Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maxine Burgess Waldo, whom he married on May 12, 1948; daughters, Vickie (Rob) Miller and Rebecca Wolfe both of Dover; grandchildren, Nicholas Wolfe, Kyle and Kayne Gibson, Kelly Gibson-Romine, CJ Kugler, Greg, Erin and Kevin Miller and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Joe Snyder and Kyle Gibson officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm.
