James W. Schlosser

James W. "Jim" Schlosser, 82, of Dover passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Union Hospital.

Born on August 21, 1933 in Tiffin, he was the son of the late William and Helen (Sandys) Schlosser. He graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and later received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University.

Jim honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 30, 1959, he married the love of his life, Judy M. Besch, who survives. Following ten years of service, he retired from the Ford Motor Company in Canton, Ohio.

Jim was a member of the Dover Jaycees, Dover Tornado Club, and the First United Methodist Church in Dover. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of Dover High School, Buckeyes, and all Cleveland teams. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he will be sadly missed by his children; Debbie (Bob) Colburn of Dover, James (Ann) Schlosser of N. Canton, and David (Karen) Schlosser of Dover; his six grandchildren, Julie Stull, Katie Colburn, Megan Schlosser, Sarah Schlosser, Nathan Schlosser, and Adam Schlosser; a great granddaughter, Charlotte Schlosser, and his sister; Barbara (Ken) Karcher of Florida.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Pastor David St. Aubin officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 11:00am until 12:00pm.
