Jane D. Hoover

Jane D. Hoover 55, of Strasburg passed away suddenly Monday evening at Mercy Medical Center in Canton surrounded by family and friends. She was cherished for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

She retired in 2005, as an employee of the Radiation Oncology Department at Akron General Medical Center where she worked for 32 years.

Born February 9, 1953 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy (Kemmerly) Hoover.

Jane was a lifelong member of St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg. She was a 1971 graduate of Strasburg High School and received her Associate degree in Medical Assisting and Data Processing from the University of Akron. She loved flower gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved cat, Molly.

She is survived by her niece, Kathy (husband, Michael) Dakota of Bath, Ohio and her nephew, Quinn (wife, Roberta) Miller of Cuyahoga Falls; great nieces and nephews, Avery, Noah, Wyatt, Devin, Samantha, and Michael.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sister and brother in law, Janet and Richard Miller.

A funeral service celebrating Jane's life will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:30am in the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg with Rev. Gary Friend officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30- 11:30am.
