Jane E. Harstine, 53, of Swonger Rd. N.W., Dover, Ohio died Saturday evening, Sept. 29, 2012 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a five month battle with ovarian cancer.

She was a former employee of Moeller & Tope Inc. in New Philadelphia and had previously been a clerical secretary for Bill Hawk Inc. at Dover.

Born Dec. 16, 1958 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ethel (Buckohr) Burrier. In addition, she was preceded by her mother in law, Doris Harstine and nephew, Jacob Shook.

She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and had many interests over the years including her service to the ODNR Division of Wildlife Eagle Volunteer Program and enjoyed many activities in the outdoors including photography, hiking, camping, boating, crafts, painting and gardening. She was also a dog lover.
She was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church and was a 1977 graduate of Dover High School. A Bible verse that especially had meaning and was comforting to her was John 6: 35.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert C. Harstine with whom she celebrated 30 years of marriage on April 3; a son, Matthew R. Harstine of Dover; two brothers Paul David "Cork" Burrier and Tom (Ann) Burrier both of Dover; her father in law, Robert D. Harstine of Baltic; a brother in law, Steve Harstine of West Lafayette and her sisters in law, Chris (Nick) Graor of Brecksville, Linda (Terry) Saylor of Canton and Lori Knotts of Sugarcreek along with several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at 1pm at the Bakersville Cemetery in Bakersville, Ohio with Pastor Lynda Masters officiating. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday from 6-8pm.
