Jane E. Kaltenbaugh, 90, of Strasburg went to meet her Lord and Savior at Union Hospital on Friday, February 10, 2012 following a brief illness.
Born on December 6, 1921 in Dundee, she was the daughter of the late Dewey A. and Flossie B. (Medam) Burrell. She attended Dover High School. On November 25, 1939, she married the love of her life, Alfred R. "Sharkey" Kaltenbaugh, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her son; Tim Kaltenbaugh, and sister; Frances Lukens.
She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Canton. Jane enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking for her family and was featured in the Culinary Corner in the Times Reporter years ago.
Jane will be sadly missed by her four daughters; Barbara (Jim) Birtcher of Dover, Cherryll (Gerald) Murphy of Dover, Patti (Randy) Fearon of Strasburg, Jill (Bob) Herman of Beach City; a son, Barry (Pat) Kaltenbaugh of Everett, WA, sister, Doris Cooley of Dover; brother, Max Burrell of Dover; along with 14 Grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
In honoring Jane's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes& Crematory in Strasburg. There will be no services or calling hours. Burial will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at a later date.
