Jane Krantz

Jane Krantz, 85, of 400 E. 14th St., Dover, Ohio died Sunday, February 17, 2002 at Union Hospital in Dover.

Born April 4, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Eva and William Kraus of Dover. After her graduation from Dover High School in 1934, she was employed by Dr. Fred Bay and Dr. Herbert Machan as a receptionist and assistant until her marriage on April 27, 1941, to Max Krantz, who died July 9, 1999.

Jane is survived by a daugher and son in law Christine and Douglas Flood of Toronto, Canada; a daughter in law, Lynn Krantz of Dover; three grandchildren, Simon Flood, Nora Flood, and Monica Krantz; a brother, William Kraus of Dover; a sister in law and brother in law, Ruth and Donny Warther of Dover.

She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Krantz who died in 1993.

Jane was a member of the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church in Dover and the Regina Study Club. She also was a member of a club she and her friends founded in 1936, then called the Junior Literary Club, now known as the Literary Club of Dover. Until she suffered a stroke in 1993, she also was a member of a bridge club the same women founded.

Beginning in 1976, she joined her husband, Max in their dedication to their hobby, a prize-winning flower garden, “Fourmont.” It became the location for years of entertaining many friends and thousands of annual visitors who came to enjoy the garden�(TM)s beauty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover Tuesday (today) from 6-8 pm.
