Jane M. Mason

Jane M. Mason, 90, of Salem passed away at her home on Friday, December 9, 2022 following an extended illness.

Born on January 29, 1932 she was one of 11 children born to the late Vernon and Marie Hartman Grimm. In addition to her parents, Jane was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. “Danny” Mason on August 23, 2019; twin brother, Gene; brothers, Dale, Jack, Max, Jim, Thomas and Robert Grimm; sisters, Doris Burkey and June Becker.

Jane and Danny were the owners of Mason’s Foodliner IGA in Wellsville, Ohio, where she served as the Office Manager, and the former Mason True Value Hardware Store in Strasburg. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg, and her spare time, Jane enjoyed ceramics and sewing.

Jane is survived by her son, Don (Donna) Mason of Salem; four grandsons, nine great grandchildren; and her sister, Nancy Goss of Dover.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Jack Stahl officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am.
