Janet L. Watt, 70, of Magnolia passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Born December 1, 1947 in Elm Grove, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Lowe Whipkey. Janet was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Woods and a grandson, Dakoda Watt.
She had worked at Rite-Aid in New Philadelphia and was a Nurses Aid at New Dawn. Janet was an excellent mother who enjoyed reading, watching movies and loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward D. Watt whom she married on June 11, 1966; sons, Brian (Loretta) Watt of Dover, Stephen Watt of Dover, Chris Watt of Colorado; brothers, Robert (Charlene) Whipkey of Dover, James “Dexter” (Mary Ellen) Whipkey of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her dog, Brix.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Janet’s life will be held on Friday, February 23 at 7:00pm in the Salvation Army, at 809 Emmet Ave NW, New Philadelphia, with George and Jennifer Bates officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
