Janet M. Flowers, 72, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with her Lord,
Tuesday, November 21, 2006, following a lengthy illness.
Born October 7, 1934, in York Township, Tuscarawas County, she was a
daughter of the late Clarence W. “Shine” and Daisy L. Davis Campbell.
Janet had a flair for art, especially in her youth, winning awards for her
drawings. She graduated in 1952 from New Philadelphia High School. Janet
was a well-known area waitress, having worked at the Dover Station,
Michael�(TM)s and Chatterbox restaurants. She was a loving mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed growing both vegetables and
flowers and cooking for her family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church in New Philadelphia.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Berry of Dover, and Sara (husband,
Ron) Graham of Strasburg; two sons, Bill Groom of New Philadelphia, and
Jeff Groom of Florida; five grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Mark) Host,
Charity Groom, Alexis Berry, Billy Groom and Seth Berry; a
great-granddaughter, Ashley Host; a sister, Jane (husband, Herb)
Ballentine of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews.
Janet�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Saturday, November 25, at
1:30 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 246 E. High Ave., New
Philadelphia, with Pastor Don Snow officiating. Immediately following the
service, a reception will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on
the Boulevard. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home
on Friday, November 24, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. To sign an online register and
