Jason P. Clinker, 26, of Dover passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Community Hospice Truman House following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 11, 1994, in Dover, he was the son of Phil and Pat (Stocker) Clinker of Dover.
Jason graduated from Dover High School with the class of 2013 where he wrestled and played football. He was a state qualifier in wrestling in 2013 and was on the Final Four State Playoff football team in 2012. After graduating high school, he received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University, where he played football his freshman year. Jason had planned on becoming an educator following college. He spent the last couple of years coaching both the Dover 7th grade and the Dover varsity football teams. He loved being on the field with the kids.
Jason was an avid sports fan. He loved the Columbus Blue Jackets for Hockey, Detroit Tigers for Baseball, and the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes for football. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing video games. Jason was ornery and had a great sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Jason leaves behind his brother; Andrew Clinker of Dover; grandmother, Judy Stocker of Bolivar; and his aunt Nancy Stocker of North Canton; uncle Mike (Karen) Stocker of Arizona; along with many many other relatives and close friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don and Mae Clinker, and maternal grandfather, Charles Stocker; uncle, Jim Clinker; and aunt, Pam Morse.
In honoring Jason’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A memorial service will take place at the First Chirstian Church in New Philadelphia on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 3pm with Pastor Jamie Blickensderfer officiating.
