Jay D. Rupe, 58, of Dover died Friday, February 20, 2009 at Union Hospital.
Born January 18, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio he was a son of Margie Kelch Rupe of New Philadelphia and the late Robert G. "Bob" Rupe.
He was a tool and die maker for 35 years.
Jay enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing a good round of golf.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Chercony Rupe with whom he would have celebrated 17 years of marriage on April 11, 2009. Jay is also survived by his daughter, Ginger (husband, Eric) Baum of Massillon; step daughters, Tammy McRobie of New Philadelphia and Kimberly (husband, Jim) Ferrell of Cardington, Ohio; brothers, Glen (wife, Casey) Rupe of Florida and Neil (wife, Barbara) Rupe of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Eric and Emily Baum; step grandchildren, Diane McRobie, Allison, Kaitlyn, James and Joey Ferrell and a step great granddaughter, Nadia Miller.
Cremation has taken place through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 12:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard with Pastor Stephen Patrick officiating.
