Jay E. Stevens

Jay E. Stevens, 81, of Bolivar passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 in the Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar.

Born February 15, 1937 in Westchester, Ohio he was a son of the late Edgar and Bessie “Lorraine” Gray Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Clum.

Jay retired as a Welder from Brechbuhler Scales in Canton following 40 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf and fishing.

Jay is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Doris Gibbs Stevens, whom he married on September 14, 1958; children, Edward J. Stevens of Navarre, Deborah K. (Charles) Clark of North Canton; grandchildren, Jeffrey Stevens and Jesse Clark.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A private graveside service will be held in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Jay may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home’s website.
