Jeanette C. Fryer, 89, of Dover, Ohio died Saturday, November 24, 2001 in her home following an extended illness.
She was a clerical employee for the City of Dover Utilities Office from 1967-76. She had also previously been a sales representative.
Born September 11, 1912 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Katie Bernhart Schumacher.
She was a 1931 graduate of Dover High School where she was valedictorian and vice president of her class. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia and the Golden Circle Fellowship. She was a former Avon Lady and earned an Albee Award. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert G. Campbell who died August 18, 1966 and her second husband, John A. Fryer on October 7, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters Linda Shott of New Philadelphia and Rev. Bonnie Coombs of Cape Coral, Florida
Two stepchildren Norma Jeanne (Duane) Taylor of New Philadelphia and John (Peggy) Fryer of Leesburg, Florida.
Six grandchildren Lori Bantum, Kristi Johnson, Amy Beechy, Edward J. Shott III, Brian and Chad Zuchegno along with eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Chumney and Alberta Buehler.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with her daughter, Rev. Bonnie Coombs officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-9 pm.
