Jeffrey Lee "Jeff" Stingel

July 24, 1955 — January 29, 2023

Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Stingel, age 67, of Dover, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday, January 29, 2023, in Dover’s Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.

Born July 24, 1955, in Winfield, he was a son of Dorothy Marie “Dot” Fulk Stingel of Dover and the late Francis John Stingel. Jeff graduated from Dover High School in 1973. He was employed by Sparta Manufacturing of Columbia, and Fluorocarbon, later Furon, of Dover. Jeff was co-owner of Dover High Performance Plastics, and was vice-president of manufacturing until retiring in 2020.

Jeff was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather, whose life revolved around his family. He enjoyed traveling - often to see his children, clay shooting, bowling, golfing, fishing trips, tinkering and particularly playing World of Warcraft with his mother-in-law, Diana Slider. Jeff was an avid life-long fan of the Cleveland Indians. He was ornery, loved hard and unconditionally. Unbeknownst to most, Jeff had an amazing singing voice. He will be greatly missed by so many.

In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his children, Joshua Lee Stingel of Southside, Tennessee, Kaci Lee (Jehiel) Lewis of Houston, Texas, Joshua Paul (Haleigh) Walker of Bullard, Texas, and Jonathan David Grandison of Dover; his grandchildren, Joliette Ivendell, Katherine Leanne, Madilyn Grace, Dominic Mason, Jaxson Levi and Keira Noel; his brother, James Allen (Cathy) Stingel; his sister-in-law, Jackie Stingel; and his nieces and nephews, Chris Stingel, J.D. Stingel, Jessica Warfield and Renee Moore; and his many friends.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Martin Stingel, and his niece, Mistee Fisher.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Jeff’s life on Saturday, February 4, 2 - 5 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard, Dover. Food will be served, and Jeff’s friend, Pastor Kevin Anslow of the Flame of Pentecost in Dover, will conduct a brief service at 4:30. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Jeff, please visit the Obituaries link on the Toland-Herzig website.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd. N.E., New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
