Jeffrey M. "Scooby" Simmons, 55, of Strasburg and formerly of Canal Fulton died Friday, March 25, 2016 at Union Hospital.
Born April 20, 1960 in Akron he was a son of the late Robert and Betty Fenwick Simmons.
Jeff had been employed at Harbor Castings in North Canton for over 30 years and was a member of the Dover Knights of Columbus. He dearly loved being with his family, watching the Food Network and cooking. Jeff also enjoyed watching OSU football and the Dallas Cowboys.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Carmen Sroka Simmons whom he married on December 30, 2006; children, Eian Simmons and his companion, Nicole Shoemaker of Florida, Bayleigh Simmons and her fianc, Jake Thomas of Canal Fulton; brothers, Robert (Anne) Simmons and Richard (Brenda) Simmons both of Canal Fulton; sister, Cindy Estes of Akron; grandchildren, Zane Ries and Mason Thomas and his beloved pets, Tiggy, Big Dog, Sugar, Frank and Mora.
Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Monday from 5-6:30 pm where funeral services will start at 6:30 with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. The family would like everyone to dress casual and, if possible, wear your favorite OSU shirt.
