Jeffry H. Jewell

Patrolman Jeffry H. Jewell, 37, of Strasburg, died Sunday, November 16, 2003 in his home after a courageous battle with Cancer.

A member of the Strasburg Police Department since 1997, Jeff was a fulltime member of the Baltic Police Department from 1999-2001 and had been a reserve Deputy Sheriff from 1996-2003.

Born February 25, 1966 at Canton, he will be missed by his parents Wilbur & Doris Householder Jewell of Dalton.

Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Tuslaw High School and had attended R.G. Drage Career Center. He had truly found joy in his work and will be remembered as a man who cared deeply about his community. He was great with children and enjoyed working in schools on child safety and fingerprinting projects. Jeff was also fond of animals and had a special place in his heart for dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Stevens Jewell who he wed on October 2, 1993.

Other survivors include: a step-son; Christopher Collins of the home, sister; Sharon (Jerry) Dyer of Perry Hts., father and mother-in-law; Robert & Marianna Stevens, sister-in-law; Pam (Tim) King of Dover, two nieces; Lyndi Weaver and her companion Mark Donely & Kayla King, and a great nephew; Connor Donley.

A step-daughter; Kristi Collins, maternal grandparents; Mary & Alfred Householder and paternal grandparents; James & Nellie Jewell preceded him in death.

A service celebrating Jeff�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, November 19, at 1:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-3 & 6-9 p.m. Members of the Strasburg Police Department and members of the Fraternal Order of Police, Tuscora Lodge #4 will be standing as honor guard at Jeff�(TM)s casket.

Following the burial, a reception will be held in the Social Hall at the Strasburg Fire Station.
