Jeraldine Jones

Jeraldine "Jerry" Jones, 81, of Strasburg, Ohio died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 in her home following a brief illness.

She retired in 2011 as an L.P.N. from Country Lawn Nursing Home and had previously retired from the Apple Creek Developmental Center where she worked for several years. Jerry also served as a Strasburg Village Councilwoman for several terms.

Born Jan. 17, 1931 in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Bertha (Dreher) Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret "Mig" Cozart.

Jerry was actively involved in the Tuscarawas Senior Center and enjoyed playing bingo. She was also a member of the L.P.N.A.O. She loved following her son, Charlie on Big Time Sports and was a big Cleveland Cavs, Indians, and Browns fan. In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling on bus trips to various destinations. She will also be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

Jerry will be sadly missed by her three children Kathryn Kosier of Dover, Charles W. "Charlie" (Cindy) Jones of New Philadelphia and Donald "Eddie" (Debbie) Jones of Strasburg; six grandchildren; Kim (Brian) Jordan, Jerod Feller and companion Tina, Luke Jones, Adam Kosier, Samantha Jones and Blake (Krystie) Jones; five great grandchildren and a sister Pat (Bob) Suttman of Texas along with several nieces and nephews including a special niece Judy Michener.

Fr. Jeff Coning will officiate a memorial service celebrating Jerry's life on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at 8pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. She will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Ft. Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar.
