Jerry J. Ruth, 65, of Dover, Ohio died unexpectedly in his sleep Tuesday, November 20, 2007.
Jerry was a skilled craftsman by trade and was able to build anything. He will be remembered as a perfectionist.
He was born September 2, 1942 in Sugarcreek, he was the son of the late Chester and Naomi (Glick) Ruth.
Jerry attended Perry High School in Massillon and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy Baker Ruth with whom he celebrated three years of marriage on August 10. He is also survived by his daughter Becky Petrie and grandson, Gary of Livonia, Michigan; stepchildren, Rich (Dee Dee) Schweitzer of Dover, Ron (Misty) Schweitzer of New Philadelphia, John Ceiko, Tina Pipech and Mary Jo Cardello all of Michigan; a sister, Pearl Brooks of Louisville, Ohio, four brothers, Edwin (Liz) Ruth of Canton, Chester (Wanda) Ruth of Michigan, Bill (Kathy) Ruth of Oregon, and John (Mary) Ruth of Massillon and a stepsister, Lela Beachy of Baltic along with several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Ruth.
A celebration of Jerry�(TM)s life will be Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Tim Troyer officiating followed by military honors performed by the Dover VFW at the funeral home. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Cremation will follow services. The family will receive guests on Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
