Joanne (Ladrach) Brittain, 91, of Port Ritchey, Florida and formerly of Dover died Friday, Sept. 30, 2022 in her home following a period of declining health. She was a resident of Florida since 1956.
Born August 8, 1931 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Pauline (Herzig) Ladrach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Brittain on July 20, 2002.
She was a Research Librarian and was employed by the Arvida Corporation and the First Federal Savings Assn. in Miami until her retirement.
Joanne graduated from Dover High School in 1949. She was also a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a B.S. Degree in Business. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Southern Golf Association and longtime member of the River Ridge Golf Club in Newport Ritchey. In addition, she was a member of the AARP and Life member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War Auxiliary and formerly active in the Eighth Air Force Museum in Savannah, Georgia.
She is survived by cousins in the Tuscarawas County area.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022 beginning at 11am in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover with Rev. David Wing officiating. Those who would like to sign the online guestbook may visit the funeral home website at www.tolandherzig.com
