Joanne R. Mason

Joanne R. Mason, 69, of Dover, Ohio died Saturday, May 19, 2001 in her home following a sudden illness.

She retired in 1994, as Secretary for the Service Director for the city of Dover where she worked for over 10 years. She was also previously employed as a Stenographic Supervisor for the Reeves Steel Company at Dover where she worked for 17 years.

Born November 25, 1931 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Wallick Helmsdoerfer.

Joanne was a member of the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover, member and Treasurer of the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Grant St. Bridge Club, Dover Historical Society and enjoyed bowling where she was active in the Thursday afternoon bowling league at Boulevard Lanes. She was a 1949 graduate of Dover High School and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Mason with whom she would have celebrated 10 years of marriage on October 26.

She is also survived by her daughter and son in law Jennifer (James) Cua of Dover; Three stepchildren Julie (Paul) Bouza of Gahanna; Stacy (Rick) Milazzo of Seven Flags, Pa.; and Steve Mason of Sunbury, Ohio
Her grandson, Christopher Cua and five stepgrandchildren

One brother John W. (Agnes) Helmsdoerfer of Dover; a half brother Gerald (Jeannie) Beers of Coshocton; a nephew, John W. Helmsdoerfer Jr. and a niece, Mary Ann Lautenschleger.

She was preceded in death by a half brother, Harold Beers.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steven Daniels officiating. Entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
