Joanne E. Renicker, age 89, of New Philadelphia, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 12, 1934, in Roswell, she was a daughter of the late Menotti "Mike" and Erma (Conconi) Tamborini. Joanne graduated from Midvale High School, and, on September 12, 1953, married Harry C. Renicker. The couple had five children and shared 62 years of marriage prior to Harry's passing on September 22, 2015. Joanne was employed for years by New Philadelphia's Miracle Adhesives Corp., and later by the Endres Floral Co., also of New Philadelphia.
She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, as well as the church's Altar Society, Senior Citizens group and Ladies' Catholic Benevolent Association. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society. Joanne had a large family whom her life revolved around; Sunday dinners with loved ones were especially important, as were her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's school and sporting events. She was a skilled baker of cakes and cookies, and was a talented flower arranger. And, once in a while, Joanne liked to try her luck at games of chance. She was cheerful, loving and caring throughout her long life.
Joanne will be dearly missed by her children, Deborah (Mike) Martinelli and Marica Bukowsky, both of New Philadelphia, John (Robin) Renicker of Dover, and Brian (Michelle "Micky") Renicker of Sugarcreek; her grandchildren, Nicole, Kimberly, Jeremy, Joshua, Jesse, Erin, Corey, Chandler, Brien, Andrea, Keith and Jessica; her 30 great-grandchildren; her 10 great-great-grandchildren; her nieces, nephews and cousins, including a very special cousin, Chuck Conconi.
Besides her parents and her husband, Harry, Joanne was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Tammy Sue, and her sister, Dorothy Everett.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, May 9, 5 - 7 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Fr. Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 10, at 2 p.m., in Sacred Heart Church. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church the afternoon of the Mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Calvary Cemetery. Following the committal, there will be a late lunch in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
