Joanne Seikel Langford

Joanne Seikel Langford, of Bolivar and a former Beach City resident, died on Friday, October 8, 2004 at home following an extended illness.

She was an accountant with the family business, Langford Ford, in Beach City for 20 years.

Joanne was born in Dover, Ohio to the late Attorney Edward and Hannah Weaver Seikel.

She was a member of St. Theresa�(TM)s Catholic Church in Brewster and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. At St. Joseph she was instrumental in the organization of the Regina Study Club and served as its first president. She also belonged to the National Council of Catholic Women and the Christian Mothers of the church. At St. Theresa�(TM)s she was involved in the Women�(TM)s Club. Joanne graduated from St. Mary�(TM)s of the Springs High School in Columbus and received her BA degree from Ohio State University. She then earned a Junior Engineers degree from Fenn College in Cleveland. Joanne was a member of the Dover Branch of the American Association of University Women, Ohio State Alumni Association, and was an alumna of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband N.J. Langford who died on January 3, 1975.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Miklos of Bolivar and Johanna (Jerry) Morris of Cambridge; son, Tom Langford of Dover; eight grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, George, Lewis, Herman and Clarence Seikel; two sisters, M. Pauline Seikel and Angela Shelton.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold and Fr. Robert Kaylor officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dover. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
