John A. Jerome 79, of 6672 Old State Route 39 NW, Dover, Ohio died Sunday, January 16, 2000 following an extended illness.
He retired in 1986 as Manager of the Dover Elks Lodge. He had previously managed the former Tally Ho in Dover.
Born March 5, 1920 in Dover, he was the son of the late Anthony L. and Mary Young Jerome.
John was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Dover, Knights of Columbus, Dover VFW, Dover American Legion, 40 et 8, Amvets, and the D.A.V. He was an avid Notre Dame fan.
He is survived by his wife Cricket Mast with whom he would have celebrated 18 years of marriage on October 19.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and her husband, Shelley and Gary Lucas, two brothers, Pat and Leonard Jerome and three sisters, Rose Lahmers, Louise Ross, and Mary Margaret Jerome.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000 at 11:00 AM in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover.
